2017 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Qualifies for Japan’s Eco-Car Tax Incentive
May 10, 2017, Auburn Hills, Mich. – The 2017 Jeep® Grand Cherokee premium mid-size SUV has become just the second gasoline-driven, American-brand vehicle to qualify for Japan’s Eco-Car tax break. The 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk was first.
Abarth and Fiat 500 Family Achieve Respective Cumulative
Totals of 10,000 and 40,000 Vehicles Sold in Japan
FCA Japan Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Pontus Häggström, hereinafter, “FCA Japan”) reached a milestone of a cumulative total of 10,000 Abarth vehicles registered in Japan as of the end of April 2017. At the same time, the company also exceeded a cumulative total of 40,000 vehicles registered in Japan from the Fiat 500 family (500, 500C, 500X), the icon of the Fiat brand(*1).
Fiat Professional Vehicle “Fiat Ducato” to be Unveiled for First Time in Japan
FCA Japan Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Pontus Häggström) will unveil the “Fiat Ducato Van”, a van version of the “Fiat Ducato” expanded by the company’s Fiat professional vehicle brand, for the first time in Japan at the “Japan Camping Car Show 2017” (http://www.campingcarshow.net/) to be held February 2 (Thursday) ~ 5 (Sunday), 2017. The exhibit will be FCA Japan’s first exhibit ever at the show.
2016 Sales Volume Exceeds 20,000 Units for First Time
FCA Japan Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Pontus Häggström) has recorded all-time highs in 2016 of the company’s Fiat, Jeep®, and Abarth brands with the number of new domestic vehicle registrations totaling 6,717 for Fiat (6,032 in 2015), 9,388 for Jeep (7,129 in 2015), and 2,240 for Abarth (1,472 in 2015). In addition, FCA Japan sold over 20,000 vehicles during the calendar year, a first for the company.
Abarth 124 spider Named a “10 Best Car” for the
“Car of the Year Japan Award”, a First for the Abarth Brand
Abarth 124 spider, which FCA Japan Ltd. began selling on October 8 of this year, was named a “10 Best Car” for the “2016-2017 Car of the Year Japan (hereinafter, COTY) Award”, which is awarded to passenger vehicles selected as the best cars of the entire year released in Japan. The award is a first for the Abarth brand.
